The Iranian Foreign Minister has telephoned his Turkish counterpart and particularly discussed the situation in northern Syria.
Javad Zarif also had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, about the Turkish invasion of northeast Russia. The two sides urged Syrian government officials to hold talks with Turkish officials and Kurds to bring stability. They said Tehran and Moscow were ready to facilitate the start of talks.
Zarif said Tehran always stressed the need for regional integration and political strategy rather than military confrontation and conflict. He said insecurity in the region solely for the benefit of the United States.
