
Eastern Medicine & Hijama Camp Organized at Karachi Press Club with Support of Hamdard University
Karachi Press Club, in partnership with Hamdard University, organized an Eastern Medicine and Hijama camp for its members and families. The initiative provided free medical checkups, herbal medicines, and Hijama therapy, emphasizing the value of traditional healthcare in improving immunity and overall well-being.
Karachi: Understanding the importance of good health and making it a priority for its members and their families, the Health Committee of Karachi Press Club (KPC) organized an Eastern Medicine and Hijama camp in collaboration with Hamdard University.
The initiative aimed to promote healthier lifestyles by offering free medical checkups, herbal medicines, and Hijama therapy to journalists and their families.

Experts from Hamdard University’s Faculty of Eastern Medicine highlighted that traditional medicine and Hijama are centuries-old practices that strengthen the immune system and promote a healthier lifestyle. They emphasized that herbal remedies are generally safer for the human body compared to certain allopathic medicines that may have side effects.
The event was attended by Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili, Secretary Sohail Afzal, Vice President Irshad Khokhar, Treasurer Imran Ayub, Health Committee Secretary Hamid ur Rehman, along with Dean of Hamdard University’s Faculty of Eastern Medicine Dr. Arshad Mehmood, Assistant Professor Hakim Zahoor ul Hasan Zaidi, Hakim Muhammad Raees Khan, Dr. Asim Bashir, Hakim Amjad Ismail, Hakim Anas, and Tabeeba Sabahat Dar.
Karachi Press Club President Fazil Jamili appreciated the initiative and said that Eastern Medicine is a proven and effective system of treatment that deserves more recognition. Secretary Sohail Afzal suggested that a formal agreement be made with Hamdard University to provide regular health services for members and their families.
Health Committee Secretary Hamid ur Rehman stated that the Press Club not only organizes recreational programs but also prioritizes health-related initiatives. He announced that upcoming camps on heart, diabetes, and other diseases will also be arranged soon.
Dean Dr. Arshad Mehmood assured that Hamdard University aims to strengthen this partnership with Karachi Press Club for the long-term welfare of journalists and their families. Hakim Amjad Ismail added that alternative treatments such as Hijama and herbal medicines are gaining popularity in Pakistan, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
