Sindh Employees Alliance extends Karachi lockdown, warning of a massive peaceful march to Bilawal House on October 6 if demands are not met.

Karachi, September 28, 2025 – The Sindh Employees Alliance Karachi Division has announced an extension of the ongoing lockdown of government offices and schools, warning of a massive peaceful march towards Bilawal House on October 6 if their demands are not accepted.

The protest gained momentum on Sunday when a rally was taken out from Government Girls Safia Memorial Secondary School. The procession moved through different routes and culminated at the Peoples Secretariat, where it turned into a large demonstration.

The rally was attended by prominent leaders including Ejaz Ali Awan (Chairman, Sindh Employees Alliance Karachi Division), Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah (Local Government), Abdul Salam Abbasi (Education Department), Muhammad Amin (Department Alfa), Bakhsh Ali Jaji (APCA), Sher Ahmed Siddiqui, Munir Jan Baloch, Sher Ali Jasakhani, and Tashud Hussain Rajput. A large number of male and female teachers and employees also joined the protest.

Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Ejaz Ali Awan said that the closure of offices and schools would continue until the Sindh government fulfills the employees’ long-pending demands. He announced that millions of government employees across Sindh would gather outside Bilawal House on October 6 for a historic peaceful march.

Employees’ Charter of Demands:

  • 70 percent salary increase
  • 50 percent Disparity Reduction Allowance (DRA)
  • Payment of group insurance and benevolent fund at retirement
  • End to deductions from pensions

Ejaz Ali Awan criticized the Sindh government for ignoring the employees’ issues despite several days of continuous protests. He stressed that the struggle would continue until justice is served.

The protest campaign is rapidly gaining attention across social media, with hashtags such as #SindhEmployeesProtest, #KarachiProtest, #BilawalHouseMarch, #GovernmentEmployeesRights trending online. The continued lockdown has disrupted public services in Karachi and other districts, increasing pressure on the provincial government.
