
GSTA Sindh Forms Sindh Employees Alliance, Rejects 2025-26 Budget as Anti-Employee
Protest Movement to Be Announced at Karachi Press Club Tomorrow
GSTA Sindh has launched the Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA) to protest the Sindh budget 2025-26, calling it anti-employee. Leaders demand equal pay, end to disparities, and announce a protest movement starting tomorrow from Karachi Press Club.
KARACHI: In a significant development today, the Government Secondary Teachers Association (GSTA) Sindh held an emergency meeting in Karachi, where leaders from multiple employee organizations came together to launch a unified front — the Sindh Employees Alliance (SEA).
The high-level meeting was chaired by GSTA Central President Haji Muhammad Ashraf Khaskheli, who was also unanimously elected as the Chairman of the new alliance. Prominent representatives from various associations participated in this critical session, including:
- Muhammad Adeel Khawaja, Central Senior Vice President, SPLA Sindh
- Ghulam Rasool Mehar, President, All Sindh Primary Teachers Association
- Israr Ahmed Shah Syed, Central President, Sindh Professor and Subject Specialist Association
- Abdul Rashid Chandio, Central President, Grilled Officers Association
The meeting rejected the Sindh Government’s 2025-26 budget, terming it “anti-employee” and called for urgent reforms to ensure justice for all public sector workers.
Key Demands from Sindh Employees Alliance:
- Immediate increase in salaries and pensions in line with soaring inflation
- Abolishment of dual salary systems within the same province
- Equal pay and benefits for all employees, matching those of Secretariat, Governor House, CM House, and Sindh Assembly
- Ending discrimination and disparity in allowances and perks
- Restore employee morale and resolve unrest across departments
The alliance called upon President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to uphold the party’s pro-worker stance and address these longstanding concerns of provincial employees.
Protest Movement Announcement Tomorrow
A six-member SEA committee has been formed to lead the movement. The committee will hold a press conference at Karachi Press Club tomorrow, where a province-wide protest campaign is expected to be unveiled.
SEA has extended an open invitation to all employee organizations across Sindh to join hands in this united cause for economic justice and fair treatment.
