
FPCCI Gears Up for Digital Transformation: Committee on Digital Media Holds Inaugural Meeting

KARACHI – The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) has strategically launched its Central Standing Committee on Digital Media, signaling a powerful move towards digital transformation for the nation’s trade and industry. The inaugural meeting, held on Saturday, May 10th, 2025, at the FPCCI Head Office in Karachi with virtual participation via Zoom, laid the foundation for an ambitious agenda focused on enhancing digital literacy, unlocking online business opportunities, and driving significant growth through effective digital strategies.
Convener Mr. Kamran Talib Chouhan spearheaded the meeting, emphasizing the committee’s vital role in equipping Pakistani businesses with the essential digital skills to not just survive, but thrive in today’s dynamic global marketplace. The core objective is to bridge the digital divide by implementing comprehensive digital marketing training programs, insightful e-commerce workshops, and impactful seminars. A key focus will be on empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, fostering a culture of innovation and online business acumen amongst the youth.
Deputy Conveners, Mr. Rehan Hyder and Mr. Nawazish Ali, were formally introduced and enthusiastically embraced their roles. Rehan Hyder articulated a compelling vision of leveraging digital media to bolster trade diplomacy, effectively showcasing Pakistan’s diverse trade, industrial prowess, and export potential on international platforms. He passionately advocated for creating tangible connections between the Pakistani business community and lucrative global markets, providing practical pathways to access these opportunities. Recognizing the critical need to support nascent ventures, Hyder specifically called for sponsored initiatives focused on startup growth strategies and addressing the unique challenges faced by emerging businesses.
Nawazish Ali strongly echoed these sentiments, underscoring the absolute necessity of widespread digital skills training for both budding entrepreneurs and established industry players. He championed the organization of targeted workshops and seminars designed to cater to the specific digital needs of various business segments.
The meeting also benefited from the insightful contributions of virtual attendees, including Ms. Saba Naz, who urged the committee to prioritize concrete action and measurable outcomes over protracted planning phases. Her call for a clear and rapidly executable strategy resonated with the collective desire for impactful change.
FPCCI Vice President Mr. Muhammad Aman Paracha offered unwavering support for the committee’s endeavors, assuring them of the federation’s full cooperation in realizing their proposed programs. He advised for the swift development of a robust action plan, with an anticipated follow-up meeting by the end of May to finalize implementation strategies. The committee resolved to swiftly convene again to finalize a detailed roadmap, with the initial digital empowerment programs slated to be launched from Karachi.
