KARACHI: The STEAM Muqablo 2026 – District Round was successfully held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at GBHSS Allama Iqbal, F.B Area Block-16, bringing together young innovators from 57 government schools of District Central Karachi.
The event transformed the campus into a vibrant hub of creativity, technology, and problem-solving, where students presented future-ready solutions, intelligent models, and interdisciplinary STEAM projects.
From intelligent prototypes to real-world problem-solving ideas, the district round proved that Karachi Central’s young minds are ready to shape the future. The competition was not just an academic activity—it was a powerful display of vision, innovation, teamwork, and confidence.
High-Profile Guests Grace the STEAM Muqablo 2026
The event was attended by several prominent guests, education leaders, and government officials, including:

Senior officials from the School Education and Literacy Department Sindh and representatives from the STEAM Policy Unit Sindh also participated, reflecting the government’s strong commitment to strengthening STEAM education in public sector schools.
Experts and Professionals Judge Student Projects
To ensure transparent and high-quality evaluation, renowned educationists, journalists, doctors, engineers, and industry professionals were invited as judges. Student projects were assessed on innovation, creativity, functionality, teamwork, and real-world impact.

Talking to The Week, entrepreneur and engineer Syed Muhammad Umer praised the students’ performance and dedication.
“I was genuinely surprised by the quality of projects presented by public school students. Their creativity, presentation skills, and problem-solving approach are remarkable. Many of these ideas can be transformed into real products if students receive continuous mentorship and exposure,” he said.
He further added:
“Events like STEAM Muqablo bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical application. This platform is shaping confident, future-ready youth who can contribute positively to Pakistan’s digital and industrial growth.”
Rehan Hyder Highlights Importance of Teacher Training
Educationist, media consultant, and digital media expert Rehan Hyder emphasized the importance of investing in teachers to maximize student potential.
“Our students have extraordinary potential. To utilize their skills effectively, we must focus on training their mentors and teachers first. Educators should be equipped to identify talent early and guide students in the right direction using modern tools and teaching methods,” he said.
He added that continuous professional development programs for teachers can play a key role in creating a strong STEAM ecosystem in government schools.

Speaking to The Week, Ghazala Yasmeen, Senior Headmistress of Government Girls Secondary School (Town Committee), expressed satisfaction over hosting the district-level competition.
