Faisal Moiz Khanâs Bold Vision: Pakistan’s Economy Will Lead the Region, Says NKATI President
In a candid interview, NKATI President Faisal Moiz Khan speaks about Pakistanâs economic resilience, industrial growth, and the importance of national unity.
In a passionate and hopeful interview on the TalkShawk Podcast, Faisal Moiz Khan, President of North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI), shared a powerful vision for Pakistanâs futureâboth economically and socially. His words were not just statements; they were a call to action, unity, and national pride.
Faisal Moiz Khan didnât mince words. Amidst the current India-Pakistan tensions, he said firmly:
âIndia jaise log Pakistan ka kuch nahi bigaarr saktay. Woh jang shuru nahi karein ge, woh jantay hain Pakistan mazboot hai.â
He emphasized that Pakistanâs strength lies in its people, its army, and its resilient business community.
Standing By the Army, Standing for Pakistan
Faisal urged all Pakistanisâespecially the industrial sectorâto stand shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Army. âWe are one nation,â he said. âTo build a strong economy, sacrifices must be made. We have to support whatever system is there for the greater good.â
The Legacy of a Visionary: Capt. Moiz Khan
This isnât just a job for Faisal. Itâs a legacy.
He emotionally reflected on his father, Captain Moiz Khan, the founding Chairman and Patron-in-Chief of NKATI. The association, formed in 1988, was his fatherâs dream, and Faisal is carrying that dream forwardânow more committed than ever.
âMy father dreamed of a strong Pakistan led by its industry. That dream is now mine too.â
NKATI: The Economic Backbone
With over 70% of NKATI industries being export-oriented, Faisal revealed how crucial North Karachi is to Pakistanâs exportsâespecially in textiles and garments.
He proudly shared that NKATI is the hub of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the same model followed by economies like China, Vietnam, and Taiwan to boost exports.
âOur local garment industry is producing clothes better than China and Turkeyâand exporting to Afghanistan,â he said.
NKATI also represents other powerful sectors like automobiles and pharmaceuticals, making it one of the most diverse and important industrial zones in Karachi.
The Role of Migrants and Communities
Faisal acknowledged the Khatri community and migrants from East Pakistan who, after the 1971 crisis, built industries from scratch and helped shape todayâs industrial zone.
âThese people didnât just build businessesâthey built the foundation of Pakistanâs industrial strength.â
Service Beyond 9 to 5
The most human part of the interview was Faisalâs personal philosophy:
âThis is not a 9 to 5 job. Itâs a lifetime service to Khalq-e-Khuda (Godâs creation). If a Sanatkar (industrialist) calls me at 2 AM, I answer.â
He credits this spirit of selfless service to his father and elders, who taught him that leadership is a duty, not a privilege.
Message to the Youth
Faisal had a strong message for Pakistanâs youth:
âAchay din aanay walay hain. Aap ka waqt aaraha hai. Pakistan ka waqt aaraha hai.â
He predicted that in two years, foreigners will come to Pakistan to workââWhite people will be applying for jobs here,â he said with confidence.
